In 2012, B&J Electric of Poland completed work for the Youngstown Water Department, including work at its pump station at Myrtle Avenue and its booster station at Webb Road. Project work took about six months to complete.
Myrtle Avenue
Work included a complete rewiring of the high-service pump station and installation of a new 1000kw backup generator. B&J electricians installed a new padmount transformer and brand new high-voltage wiring.
The new generator was built to be self-contained in its own housing, which required new pumps and 150-250hp motors.
Webb Road
Work included installation of a 1600kw emergency backup generator and a complete modernization of the booster station. B&J updated the station’s systems with modern technology and integrated it with the city’s own software.
